Julia Jacklin

It was clear even before her set started that Julia Jacklin loves to perform and isn’t afraid of being her quirky self. She and her band joined her opener, Christian Lee Hutson, for a few songs in street clothes before she returned in a bubble gum pink 80s prom dress for her own set. “I thought this dress was perfect for tonight because [The Cedar] reminded me of a school dance hall,” she laughed with her adorable Australian accent. She and her band presented an incredible set mixed with emotionally-charged slow songs and punchy and intricate rock songs. A great highlight was the band stopping to give away an abacus Julia had found in a dumpster in Austin, TX to an adoring fan. Julia’s tour is nearing its end in the US next week and will continue into Europe and Australia through Spring 2020. Dates can be found here: https://www.juliajacklin.com/
