Hi, my name is Kayla Smith and I’m a photographer based in the NYC area. I graduated from Drew University with a BA in Studio Art in 2016. I’m very passionate about film photography, and almost exclusively shot with a Polaroid Spectra camera until 2019. Music has always played a massive role in my life. Greetings! My backstory is all over the place, I dabble in lots of different respects of the music industry. In the past, I went to school at the University of Michigan to study Art & Design, but recently transferred home to the University of Nebraska-Omaha to study Composition and Philosophy. Currently, I am managing two bands called Wrënch and Noodle Boy, both based out of the Chicago area. I do everything from booking, press, general management, promotion, to artistic direction for them! Also, I recently finished up interning at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, in which I did everything from venue management to artist hospitality.

Good day! My name is Odera and I’m a photographer from the beautiful streets of London, UK. Currently working as the in-house photographer for a London-based digital design studio, I've been a full-time photographer for 2 years, dabbling in almost every type of photography (check out my website if you get a moment). But as a fellow musician, getting to document the experience of live shows and spectacular music artistry blows most of the others out of the water. I caught the bug for music photography when offered the chance to shoot some of my favourite artists for Somerset House & American Express UK, and haven’t been able to shake it since. Hey, I’m Sophie! I’m a photographer based in Atlanta, GA. I graduated from Furman University with a BA in Art and Communication Studies in 2019. When I was in college, I created a magazine with 88 pages of photos and interviews of women and non-binary musicians. The artists I curated for the magazine all use their platforms to spotlight issues that are important, but difficult to address - such as depression, addiction, domestic violence, and LGBTQ+ visibility. This 9 month process helped me realize how important music is to help people not feel alone in their struggles, and how important it is to help non-men succeed in this industry.

Some of my current favorite artists that I’ve photographed include flor, Billie Eilish, Lostboycrow, Khalid, The 1975, Tyler, the Creator, The Band CAMINO, and Paramore. Atlanta has a thriving music scene that I’ve been blessed to work in, with some highlights being Maggie Schneider, Fury in Few, Caterina, and Next Year’s End. When I’m not photographing a show or working at my graphic design job, you can probably find me with my two cats, Albus and Tonks.

Ahoy! I’m Alena, 23, and I’m an photographer/multimedia artist torn between The Music City (Nashville, TN) and The Live Music City (Austin, TX). I studied Theatre Arts at Sewanee: University of the South, which allowed me to optimize my skills to aid in live performance. It wasn’t until Bonnaroo ‘17 that I learned live music culture is what I’ve been waiting to experience my whole life. The lights, the bass, the crowd... the hoarse voice, sweat and slight claustrophobia- it’s all so intoxicating. Pure.

I’ve been making a living off of riding that high, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hey there! My name is Tori Rose, and I am a 22 year old music photographer from Kansas City. A few of my favorite things are music, photography, my cats, matcha, and quoting Hot Rod. Because of my parents, I grew up to have an interesting taste in music. My dad would always be playing The White Stripes, Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips, or Willie Nelson. My mom would play Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, or songs from musicals. So I definitely have always had an appreciation for all types of music. Some of my favorites at the moment are Yungblud, Queen, AJR, and Alec Benjamin.

Once I started going to concerts, I couldn’t stop. There’s something about screaming your favorite lyrics WITH your favorite artist, surrounded by strangers in a crowded smoky room, that makes you feel like you can be your most authentic self.

When I finally had the idea to combine my two favorite things, concerts and photography, it was a dream come true! Why hadn’t I thought of it earlier? The first concert I shot was during my senior year of high school; then for the next couple years after that, I shot random concerts here and there. Not until mid 2018 did I apply for a publication, and actually got to shoot shows consistently. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I have gotten so far, and am so excited to continue them with Honey Punch!

Hello there! My name is Stephanie Estrada and I’m 21 years old. I’m a music photographer based in Miami, Florida. Before moving to the United States, I used to live in Nicaragua for 17 years. I moved during my junior year in high school and moved to Gainesville, Florida to finish my senior year. Yes, it was a culture shock! Moving to America was incredible because of the music and art scene. Since I moved to Florida, it has given me the opportunity to experiment with different styles of photography, but music photography was it! I love bringing my 35mm film camera with me to concerts and I highly recommend anyone to try it at least once!  I’m currently a junior in college studying communications and photography. I spend most of my time reading biographies of painters, aka Vincent Van Gogh is everything, and drinking a lot of café con leche. My favorite bands are Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Ben Howard, The Lumineers (Angela is my favorite song from them,) and Cage The Elephant.

I shot my first show (Cherub at the 9:30 Club) in September 2016 and instantly fell in love with concert photography. Hello, my name is Jennifer Casas I am a photographer/videographer from Texas. I’m really into concert photography, some bands and artists dear to me are The 1975, BROCKHAMPTON, Haim, Linkin Park, Oasis, LANY, and Clairo.

My inspiration for photography and need to capture moments stems from my parents. As young as I could remember they would always have a camera in their hand. I very quickly realized camera’s have a much more incredible power than just documenting family events, you can use it to document stuff you enjoy, capture priceless moments, and even change how people see the world.

I’m incredibly grateful to HPM for the opportunity and I look forward to making some fun work.

Hey there! I’m Sydney, a multimedia artist and music fanatic. I’m 18 years old and currently in my first year at Columbia College Chicago studying film.

Growing up on the outskirts of the city, I’ve been lucky enough to experience the inner workings of Chicago’s incredibly friendly and collaborative DIY scene, playing shows as well as documenting other musician’s stories. The artists and musicians of Chicago loom large in my heart, and I could not be more excited to continue exploring this community and beyond at Honey Punch! I love nothing more than being able to capture artists in their spaces of creation, giving them a platform to express their craft. My music taste is fairly expansive. I could sit down and geek out to anything from the Grateful Dead, to Jeff Buckley, to Bob Marley, to Radiohead, but some of my Chicago heroes are Twin Peaks, Post Animal, and Divno Niño.

Hiii, Grace here! I'm an 18 year old film and television student at Boston University but my forever home is the Jersey Shore. I grew up right outside of Asbury Park, Bruce Springsteen's stomping grounds. Asbury Park is home to so many incredibly talented artists and creatives. I attended a nearby performing arts high school where I experienced the music-making process up close and personal and helped organize an annual small scale music festival. I am all about supporting local artists!!

If I'm not doing yoga or sitting at the beach, you can find me at a basement show. I'm always on aux and The 1975, Willow, Clairo, Laundry Day and Beabadoobee are always queued. Hey there! My name is Kendall Polidori and I am a writer based in Chicago, Illinois, and I am also a journalism student at Columbia College Chicago. Though I love writing about nearly anything under the sun, music sparks a certain passion in me that I find myself itching to speak with artists, attend shows and document the absolute magic that is the Chicago music scene for others. I have been fortunate enough to be immersed in the music scene, speak with some of the most talented musicians, attend breathtaking performances and write about it!
